Vaishno Devi Darshan
Day 1: Amritsar to Katra (Approx. 260 km / 6–7 hrs)
Begin your journey early morning from Amritsar and drive towards Katra, the base town for Vaishno Devi Darshan. The route offers beautiful views of the Punjab countryside and the lower Himalayan ranges as you enter Jammu & Kashmir. On arrival at Katra by afternoon or early evening, check into your hotel and relax.
Later, explore the local market for pooja essentials and prepare for the next day’s trek. Have an early dinner and rest well for the spiritual climb ahead.
Day 2: Vaishno Devi Bhawan Darshan (Trek – 12 km one way)
Begin the trek to the Vaishno Devi Temple early morning. The 12-kilometer journey is a blend of devotion and scenic views. You may choose to walk, hire a pony, use a palki, or opt for battery car services. Helicopter services are also available (subject to weather and booking).
Along the way, pause at Ardhkuwari Temple, believed to be the place where the Goddess meditated for nine months. Reach the Vaishno Devi Bhawan, have darshan of Mata Rani, and soak in the divine energy of the shrine.
Post-darshan, you can either rest in temple accommodations or descend back to Katra the same day. Most devotees return the same day and check into their hotel by night.
Day 3: Katra to Amritsar (Return Journey)
After breakfast, begin your drive back to Amritsar with blessings and spiritual peace in your heart. On your way back, you can optionally stop for lunch in Pathankot or take a break in Jammu for shopping and snacks. Arrive in Amritsar by evening, concluding your short yet spiritually fulfilling Vaishno Devi pilgrimage.
