Hemkunt Sahib Yatra

Day 1: Amritsar to Rishikesh / Haridwar (via car – approx. 7–8 hrs)

Your spiritual journey begins from the holy city of Amritsar. After an early morning pickup by private taxi or cab, you'll embark on a scenic drive towards Rishikesh or Haridwar, two of the most sacred towns located on the banks of the Ganges. The drive offers peaceful countryside views and beautiful hill landscapes as you move towards Uttarakhand. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel and spend the evening at leisure or attend Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri (if staying in Haridwar).

Day 2: Rishikesh / Haridwar to Govindghat (via Rudraprayag – approx. 9–10 hrs)

Today, the journey takes you deeper into the Garhwal Himalayas. After breakfast, drive to Govindghat – the base for the Hemkunt Sahib Yatra. The route passes through Devprayag, Rudraprayag, and Joshimath, offering stunning views of river confluences and Himalayan villages. On arrival at Govindghat, check into your hotel or lodge. Rest well and prepare for the trekking phase of your pilgrimage starting the next day.

Day 3: Govindghat to Ghangaria (13 km trek / by pony / helicopter)

After an early breakfast, begin your 13 km trek from Govindghat to Ghangaria. You can choose to walk, hire a pony, or book a helicopter ride (based on weather and availability). The trek follows the beautiful Lakshman Ganga River, with breathtaking views of lush forests, waterfalls, and mountain peaks. On reaching Ghangaria – the base camp for Hemkunt Sahib and Valley of Flowers – check in at your guesthouse and rest overnight.

Day 4: Ghangaria to Hemkunt Sahib & Back (12 km round trek)

This is the most spiritually rewarding day of your journey. Begin your trek early in the morning to Hemkunt Sahib, located at an altitude of 4,633 meters (15,200 ft). Surrounded by snow-capped peaks and a crystal-clear glacial lake, the Gurudwara marks the place where Guru Gobind Singh Ji is believed to have meditated in a previous life. After performing darshan and paath, descend back to Ghangaria for an overnight stay.

Day 5: Ghangaria to Govindghat – Drive to Rudraprayag / Rishikesh

After breakfast, trek back to Govindghat from Ghangaria. Once you arrive, continue your journey by taxi to Rudraprayag or Rishikesh, depending on your schedule and availability. The scenic return route offers another opportunity to absorb the natural beauty of Uttarakhand. Upon arrival, check in and rest.

Day 6: Return Journey – Rishikesh to Amritsar

After breakfast, check out and drive back towards Amritsar. This concludes your spiritual Hemkunt Sahib Yatra. Upon arrival in Amritsar by evening, you will be dropped off at your desired location – home, hotel, or railway station – with divine blessings and unforgettable memories of the Himalayas.
